ARTree, a non-profit community arts center located in Newhall (Santa Clarita CA) seeks a dedicated volunteer to serve in the following roles on its Board of Directors. This is a non-paid leadership position with at least a one-year commitment, requiring once a month attendance at in-person board meetings and additional volunteering requests during events and/or classes.

EDUCATION CHAIR
•Manage student registration and class scheduling (2 sessions per year and summer) using activity management system (Sawyer Tools)
•Maintain class descriptions, photos and teacher information
•Work with teachers to develop, schedule and manage their classes
•Be on-site the first week of classes to manage smooth session starts.
•Work with treasurer on teacher payments and work with volunteer coordinator to set up assignments
•Manage material supplies
•Communicate with parents, clients, students and teachers
•Reply to email inquiries, phone calls and questions
•Recruit artists to become ARTree teachers
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Administration skills, attention to detail and deadlines
•Strong communication and organizational skills
•Comfortable using programs and applications for class and volunteer management
•Experience with personnel management

•Ability to work collaboratively and contribuite effectively in a board setting
TREASURER
•Oversee financial management practices
•Work with the board to develop and monitor the annual budget
•Review and approve financial statements
•Present financial reports to the board
•Ensure compliance with IRS regulations for non-profits and grants
•File taxes, reporting grant statuses, and general banking responsibilities
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Experience with budgeting and financial analysis preferred

MEMBER-AT-LARGE
•Assist in events and classes when possible
•Contribute ideas for organizational growth
•Participate in annual and strategic meetings
•Attend 1x month board meetings
•Willingness to take on administrative, research, materials prep or communication tasks
